Venezuela People Spoke and Chavez is ready to make a better government for the people. He has been in power for 14 years, and is happy to stay there one more round. A referendum in 2009 removed the two-term limit for presidents.
In the persona of anti-capitalist crusader, or what is persceived of in the west as we do not have such a system. Ours is chosen by an electoral college to keep safely OUT of the hands of the people. Chavez charisma has been well earned as his popular socialist programs have been reinforced by oil-financed massive state spending for the poor, on social programmes such as free health clinics, new universities, homes, cash handouts and reducing food prices. Compare that to our system in the US where the big oil firms are allowed to destroy the Gulf environment with impunity and then turn around not only keep their hard earned profits without much tax but are awarded even bigger prize in Tax incentives worth billions another words we pay them to mistreat us.
Chavez is the wiser 58. His opposition challenger is 40: Henrique Capriles is a state governor. The business-friendly law graduate Capriles has promised to swap Chavez’s self-styled socialist revolution and a state-led economy for austerity and privitization so you know who’s interest he lies in, the globalist.
Capriles has mostly avoided direct confrontation with the giant Chavez. But at a last pre-poll rally, he asked the crowd how many of its problems Chavez had solved. this deosn’t mean he has any worthwhile programs as the election results confirm.
Nationalisations have weakened private enterprise they just can’t rob and pillage like they do freely in the west as given ruling party insiders have control over the states priviteers. Although the priviteers try to unseat the state by bringing in millions of weapons the priviteers have made Venezuela more violent than some war-zone The Priviteers tend to also make alarming crys under left cover of social inequality on a vast scale. While Our people in the USA who are just begining to see through this left cover sham, clearly Venezuelans know Chavez is the peoples best shot and they do know it!
Claiming the world’s largest crude reserves, Venezuela pumps some three million barrels per day, and there are some 300 billion barrels of proven reserves where that came from, more than fellow OPEC member Saudi Arabia. The national income is nine tenths based on oil. This makes the greedy robber barons eyes more attune waiting for their chances another coup perhaps? It’s not that they don’t want to but this year they tried by playing by the rules and win elections.
Chavez borrowed on state assets. The 37 billion dollar-debt when he was first elected reached 95 billion last year. His spending cut unemployment and poverty and boosted the country, but critics say frequent power blackouts – for example – are a reminder of resources squandered well this is a new term and we have to give him the benefit of the doubt. Chavez recently admitted he had made errors, notably not diversifying from oil, and he promised that his next government would be better than ever.
His health may be another matter. Operated on for cancer tumours at least twice since June 2011, he has kept details secret from almost everybody. This is an Important matter for the people to not focus on Chavez as a celebrity but must be willing to work with Chavez to groom other like minded brite individuals that can protect the ideals that have worked for the people of Venezuela and not to allow just one person with him gone change and undermining the entire socialist movement. As bondholders and foreign oil companies these priviteers are itching to tap into Venezuela crude, they have been left in the dark as long as Chavez’s is in position to stop them the priviteers are stopped.
Apart from that, opposition leaders say they see little risk of fraud during the electronic balloting itself. There will be no formal international observation of the vote as there are no DIEBOLD systems to rig the results.
Chavez has won votes many times before, and he can do it again. One more time. Good for the people of Venezuela.
